TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo on Sunday morning left for Europe for states visits from 17 – 21 April to Germany, the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands, and international organizations in the region.
State Secretary Pramono Anung who also joined the President during the visit said that the President’s visit would focus on economic cooperation. However, he said that the political development in the Middle East and Terrorism issues would also be included in the talks during the visit.
In the meantime, Trade Minister Thomas Lembong said that the President’s visit to Europe this time would also discuss trade issues.
"The concrete results that will be achieved during the visit is the finalization of the early phase of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between UE and Indonesia," Lembong said.
Lembong added that CEPA is a big cooperation because it involved 20 EU countries, with the total population of 530 million people and the economy worth US$ 18.5 trillion per year.
