Jokowi Refuses Wedding Gifts

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo said that he will not receive any gift or donations, whatsoever, during the wedding of his son Gibran Rakabuming Raka to Selvi Ananda.

"We have written it down on the invitation that we will receive no donation. We will have to refuse it," said Jokowi on Monday, June 8, 2015.

The wedding itself has become a popular headline in many mass media and online websites. It has also received some criticisms, including on the use of Batik, the level of security that involves the Chief of Police, and special Airport clearance made specifically for the cordial event.
