TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Isran Noor, the chairman of the Regency Administrations Association (APKASI), has asked President Jokowi to scrap his plans to reshuffle his Working Cabinet. He claimed his request was based on the aspirations of all regents during the APKASI National Meeting in April.
“After the meeting, we gathered and prayed for the president and pledged to support the president’s policy,” Isran said before the president at the Indonesia Investment Week in Kemayoran on Wednesday, May 13, 2015.
According to Isran, it would be best if the president did not reshuffle his cabinet in the first year of his administration.
“But there’s this one thing, pardon me, I don’t mean any disrespect, but we hope that Mr. President will not reshuffle his cabinet before a year,” he said.
Isran said it was impossible to review the ministers’ performance after only six months. “It is unrealistic if a reshuffle is carried out only six months after the ministers took office,” he said.
Jokowi only smiled on hearing the request and remained non-committal on the issue after the event concluded.
