Based on the document from Central Jakarta Land and Building Tax Agency (KPP PBB), Antasari explained, Tommy’s house, situated on Jalan Cendana 6, Central Jakarta, is estimated more than Rp 6 billion worth. The figure is based on the selling value of tax object. Meanwhile, his houses on Jalan Yusuf Adiwinata 4 and Jalan Cendana 12, each costs more than Rp 5 billion. Prosecutor’s Office already summed Rp 11 billion of Tommy confiscated assets.
According to Antashari, the estimation was based on data gained by KPP PBB on January 3, 2001. Other confiscated assets included property and villas in Bogor and Serang, West Java whose values have yet to be estimated. “We will hand over the assets after knowing the values,” he said.
The confiscation is to compensate the Rp 30.6 billion state’s money in the land deal case between State Logistic Agency (Bulog) and PT Goro Batara Sakti. “If the asset is not sufficient (to pay the compensation), we will bring the case to civil court,” Antasari explained.
Tommy’s lawyer Elza Syarief told TEMPO Interaktif that he refused to accept the estimation made by KPP PBB because the agency only estimated the price of land, not the building. “There should have been an independent appraiser to meet the market standard. Elza also challenged the Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office to auction the asset or bring the case to the civil court.
In response to Elza’s rejection, Antasari said that his office has planned to ask an independent appraiser to estimate Tommy’s asset. The plans to auction the asset and bring the case to a civil court are based on a letter issued by Supreme Justice No.4/1988 on paying compensation.
