TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The daughter of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, Kahiyang Ayu, is set to wed Bobby Nasution on November 8.
"My sister is going to hold her wedding on November 8," the President’s oldest son, Gibran Rakambuming Raka, said at their house in Sumber sub-district, Banjarsari District, Solo, on Sunday (17/9).
President Jokowi deliberately held a press conference to deliver official statement on his daughter’s wedding. He appointed Gibran as the family spokesperson to lead the press conference accompanied by his sister Kahiyang Ayu and the First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo.
"The event will be kept simple. November 8 falls on Wednesday, the previous day, Tuesday, we will hold siraman (ritual washing) and so on. On Wednesday morning, we will hold the wedding ceremony, and the reception will follow afterwards. The preparation has reached 80 percent," Gibran continued.
The wedding reception will be held at di Graha Sabha Buana, a building belonging to Jokowi’s family, and the catering services will be provided by Chili Pari, Gibran’s catering company.
"The concept is similar to that of two years ago, we go with traditional concept," Gibran said.
