TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit Simeulue Regency, Aceh Province, at 2:43 AM today, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said.
“The epicenter was on land at a depth of 10 kilometers at 1.00 degrees North latitude and 91.65 degrees East longitude,” the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) spokesman said today.
There were no immediate reports of casualties, according to Sutopo. He added that no tsunami warning was issued.
