TEMPO.CO, Kupang - Regional elections in four out of ten regencies in East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT) face postponement since Regional Grant Agreement (NPHD) has not been signed.
"Stipulated in Regulation for Election Commission (PKPU) No. 1/2017, the deadline for signing NPHD is on September 27, 2017. Meanwhile, in the last General Election Commission (KPU) letter, it was stated that if it is not signed until the ad-hoc committee is determined on October 12, then the election will be postponed," East Nusa Tenggara General Election Commission chairman Maryanti Luturmas Adoe said on Saturday, September 2.

The four regencies that have yet to sign NPHD include South Central Timor (TTS), Nagekeo, Sumba Tengah, and Rote Ndao Regencies.
Maryanti added that out of the four regencies, only Nagekeo Regency that still has problems with the amount of budget proposed to KPU. She also hopes that by next week, these four regencies will sign NPHD since this entails much longer administrative processes.
