TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Attorney General Noor Rachmad said that former Jakarta governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok will remain held at the Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) detention house in Depok until the end of his sentence.
“As per Cipinang Penitentiary request,” Noor Rachmad told a press conference today in Jakarta.

According to Noor Rachmad, Cipinang warden made the request having seen the furor outside the penitentiary on the previous occasion. The warden, therefore, sent a letter ordering continued detention of Ahok at Brimob detention house.
Noor said that the Attorney General’s Office had decided to transfer Ahok to Cipinang prison before calling it off upon receipt of the letter from Brimob HQ commander.

Noor added that whether Ahok will continue to be held at Brimob detention house or not depends on Cipinang prison’s discretion. “Ask them.”
Noor also declined to answer when asked whether there was a legal basis to detain Ahok at Brimob HQ. “Ask Cipinang prison. We only execute the court order,” he said.
Ahok case has been settled after he and the public prosecutors dropped their appeal with Jakarta High Court.
Ahok was sentenced to two years in prison by the panel of judges of North Jakarta District Court in May. He was sent to Cipinang Prison in East Jakarta before being transferred to Brimob detention house.
