TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Joko Widodo said he was bringing less ministers than his predecessors during his recent nine-day visits to three countries. He explained the trips still went without a hitch despite the slim team.
“Two ministers are enough. For the APEC event, three ministers are enough. The Foreign Affairs Minister is mandatory to come along,” Jokowi said on Friday, November 14, 2014.
During the APEC and ASEAN Summit, Jokowi was accompanied by three ministers: Coordinating Minister for the Economy Sofyan Djalil, Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, Trade Minister Rachmat Gobel, and Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto.
Jokowi has arrived home in Indonesia after attending a series of international events in China, Myanmar and Australia. The president and his entourage arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta at around 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2014.
