TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo on Monday, October 27, 2014 at the State Palace, is set to inaugurate his new ministers.

The inauguration is scheduled to be conducted at the State Palace with a more formal concept and is done in accordance with the existing protocol.

As for the announcement of the cabinet line up, former Deputy of the Transition Team Andi Widjajanto said that it would be done on Sunday afternoon, October 26, 2014.

"It’s quite likely that President Joko Widodo will introduce members of his cabinet on Sunday afternoon at 4 pm at the yard between Merdeka Palace and State Palace,” Andi said.

Andi added that the announcement was intentionally done on Sunday to give opportunities for ministers living outside Jakarta to come to Jakarta.

For the record, the announcement of the cabinet line up was delayed twice.

Initially, Joko was planned to announce his cabinet line up on Wednesday evening, October 22, 2014 at Tanjung Priok seaport, North Jakarta. The announcement was postponed to Friday evening, October 24, 2014; yet it was cancelled again.

It was reported that Joko cancelled the announcement as he was still assessing the reports given by the anti-graft body the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

In the meantime, Andi denied that the cancellation was due to the dispute about ministerial candidates supported by political parties within Joko’s coalition. He also said that ministerial positions from the political parties are already fixed so it did not affect the announcement of the cabinet line-up.
