Pertamina Adds Supply for East Kalimantan

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta : Pertamina started the market operation to distribute more supply of gas for household consumers in three cities in East Kalimantan, after rising gas price in the province.

Fourth Marketing Unit Division of Pertamina in the city told Tempo the additional supply were distributed in Balikpapan, Samarinda, Tenggarong for four days. Pertamina prepared 612 units of 12-kg canister, each city will receive 204 canisters of gas.

Gas supply was scarce in East Kalimantan leaving only small amount of gas at retail sellers at Rp 100.000 per 12-kg canister of gas. The normal price was at Rp 69.000 per canister and the operation provides gas at the normal price, distributed directly to consumers not to sellers.

The state oil and gas company said they have prepared 185,233 metric tonnes of subsidized LPG and 6.907 metric tonnes of unsubsidized LPG during the holy month of Ramadan.

Pertamina also said the operation will be repeated days before Idul Fitri in several cities and districts in the province.
